With only 6660 bottles being released, a fitting number chosen by Arran, this is a very limited edition dram. On the eye this bottling has a two toned shade of light & dark. The first dark drams used in this brew are the 1997 & 1998 hogshead which provided the foundation & rich depth to this whisky. This was rested in ex-oloroso Spanish oak casks that provide an unmistakable character of spicy notes & hits of cigar boxes with dark chocolate. The 2002 barrels introduced subtle vanilla notes with the trade mark Arran citrus emerging on the tongue. The final influential casks is the oldest peated Arran casks from 2004 which brings earthy notes which is new for Arran but only makes this bottling more complex & a true joy to experience.
