This very old & much-loved French variety is prized by leading chefs for its wonderful scent & outstanding flavour. The elongated orange-red fruits are soft & juicy & have the most intense, sweet, aromatic flavour. They are so fragrant that when in season they perfume the markets in Provence with the most heavenly scent & simply taste fantastic! The only downside is that compared to today's modern varieties, the plants lack vigour & yields are lower. Flowers late June-July. Height 31-40cm; spread 41-50cm. June bearer
- early. Supplied as bare root plants.

“A really early variety which will start to fruit at the beginning of June. This variety has the perfect strawberry shape & is a beautiful glossy red colour. Growing your own fruit has to be one of the most rewarding things any gardener can do. Not only can you grow varieties that you’d be hard pushed to find in any greengrocer, but you can grow the more expensive fruit, saving money along the way. Included in my fruit range are varieties I’ve grown for years on my allotment & in my garden, all of which are firm favourites of mine, my family & friends. ...
