Product Description

Kale Plants
- Red Russian Tender to eat & sweet in flavour! Kale plant ‘ Red Russian’ will produce good crops of delicious grey-green leaves, almost like giant oak leaves. As the weather gets colder, the leaves take on a red tinge & the flavour sweetens. In fact, the 60-90cm high plants are so attractive that you could even grow them in the flower garden. Supplied in 9cm pots. ’ Red Russian’ kale is known to make great Chinese seaweed. Kale is packed full of tremendous health benefits such as vital vitamins & powerful antioxidants. This wonderful low maintenance variety produces a good crop of greens & is even available in the winter months! Rob says
- This heritage kale forms 60-90cm plants with green/grey leaves in the shape of giant oak leaves. As the colder weather arrives, the leaves begin to take on a red tinge (pretty enough for a winter border) & the flavour sweetens. Kale has recently been classed as a super food. But gardeners have been eating this tasty crop for centuries before anyone else jumped on the band wagon. Try making kale crisps, simply snip bite-size pieces from the leaves, wash & dry. Then drizzle with oil, sprinkle with salt & bake at 175 degrees for 10-15 minutes. They taste great & get kids eating veg!
