A fully hardy specimen which will thrive in our cool British climate. This wonderful orchid enjoys a moist, semi-shaded position (it looks beautiful naturalised in a woodland site, or in clearings between shrubs in a cool, shady border). The plants produce strapping, arched green leaves &, in early/mid summer, impressive violet flower spikes which are made up of numerous individual blooms. Flowers May-June. Height 40cm. Many gardeners see a shady corner of their garden as a problem area, but there are a whole host of amazing varieties that will positively thrive there, making it actually a really good opportunity to grow something different. & many of those same plants are great for naturalising too!
