This sharpener can be powered by 4 x AA size batteries & can also be powered from the USB (Universal Serial Bus) port on your computer or any USB (Universal Serial Bus) charging plug, USB (Universal Serial Bus) cable included. Another useful feature which is unique to this class of sharpener is once the shavings tray is opened, all power to the sharpener is automatically cut, so the blade unit cannot revolve, preventing injury.
