The GPS chip provides world class performance that suits it to navigating urban canyons, as well as wide-open spaces. TTFF (time-to-first-fix) under open sky is just 35 seconds from a cold start, 1 second from a hot start. Reacquisition time is 1 second. The dedicated GPS card & antennae comprises a 20-channel global positioning system (GPS) receiver in a compact surface-mountable module. Using the fast & deep search capabilities of Si R Fstar III, it features high sensitivity & high gain. The GPS card uses the ultra low power GSC3f/LP single chip GPS engine. The GPS card receives all of its data, power & RF signals through its surface mount pads. Being lead-free, it complies with the European Unions Ro HS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) directive. Its EMI/EMC shield not only lets it meet FCC/CE standards, but also assures peak performance in noisy environments. Supporting multiple reference frequencies, the GSC3f/LP RF section is a highly integrated RF implemntation. The GSC3f/LP supports Si RFDRive dead reckoning technology for enhanced positioning accuracy & availablity. This product has been tested & validated on Dell™ systems.
