The District+ rear LED lamp has been re-developed for 2012/13 to reflect the advancements in red LED technology since its initial release in 2010. The LEDs have been upgraded to OsramÂ’s high efficiency Oslon LEDs as used in the rear light modules at the high performance end of the automotive industry. The huge leap in efficiency has meant that we can maintain the high brightness of the original District lamp whilst increasing the run time with the 2600m Ah battery to up to 200 hours. The lamp now features six power levels three static & three flash settings. The District+ rear safety light is bright! Now that may sound like an obvious statement but until youÂ’ve seen one of these on in the dark

- you wonÂ’t quite believe it! We tested the lamp extensively over an 18 month period & found it to tick every box on the list. The most obvious thing came from those commuting
- come rain or shine this powerful tail light really makes drivers of vehicles & other road users so much more aware that you are there. You are given a wider birth when overtaken not pushed along in trafficÂ…just more visible & therefore SAFER. Now we arenÂ’t suggesting that this meansyou wonÂ’t be unfortunate enough to have an accident or at least a near miss

As featured on the Vision R8 the dual sequence operation simplifies & facilitates mode selection. RACE sequence offers the highest of the power levels with an emphasis on light output. TRAIL sequence offers flash mode & the more economical power levels to maximise battery life. The R4 also features a battery save mode. When the battery life reaches a critical level the lamp will drop down into the lowest power setting & flash every 15 seconds in order to maximise the remaining battery life whilst also providing just enough light to continue with caution. At this point you should take action to either change the battery pack or return home. You will only know when you see the R8 turning the darkness into light. Eight Cree XPG LEDs behind our own custom optic allowing user selectable beam anglesprovide you with eight different intensity levels with a light output of up to 2000 measured lumens. Dual sequence operation simplifies & facilitates mode selection. RACE sequence offers the highest of the power levels with an emphasis on light output. TRAIL sequence offers flash mode & the more economical power levels including selectable beam distribution: spot or flood. Burn time with the standard 5200m Ah battery pack ranges from 1:15 hours in maximum to over 16:00 hours in ultra low. Battery condition operational sequence & power level are displayed on the LCD screen enabling more accurate battery management. The three-colour backlit display glows a subtle HOPE green in race sequence; mellow orange in trail sequence; & fiery red as the lamp warns you of a low battery voltage. All the components that make up the R8 system had to be overhauled to ensure they were up to the job of handling the increased power. The power connectors now feature upgraded gold plated pins & a new enhanced waterproof over moulding to maintain a constant power supply to the lamp. The 5200m Ah G2 battery pack new for 2011/2012 allows the lamp to operate comfortably in the higher power levels whilst also improving performance at lower temperatures. The R8 is non-compatible with existing 2600m Ah & 5200m Ah battery packs. Both options are supplied with the QR bayonet CNC machined aluminium handlebar mount which is also new for 2011/2012. ...
