The softshell fabric used to make these will keep in more warmth & cut out much of the biting wind during the colder months plus the DWR finish adds in impressive levels of water repellence. Despite their smart casual looks the cut is cycle specific with 4-way stretch for unrestricted movement a higher back to suit a riding position & a seam free gusset to avoid any irritation when pedalling. Safety is thought about too with extremely discreet reflectivity. Rather than being garish hi-viz these use reflective threads in the seams. So by day you won’t even notice they’re there but once the sun goes down they’ll light up in the headlights. The pants are highly durable easy care & crease resistant so they’ll easily cope with repeated use & packing. Storage is catered for with two front chino style pockets & two further pockets on the rear with zipped closures. Another nice touch for use while you’re hopping on & off the bike is the loop on the back of the shorts where you can store a D-lock for quick access. With it being attached near the belt loops the lock will not get in the way of your pedalling whereas just sticking it in a pocket would definitely get in the way.
