This thing called ‘gravel riding’ is still evolving still being defined. What’s next? Hop on the new Diverge Expert EVO & you tell us. It’s designed to get aggressive to push the boundaries of what we thought was possible on a gravel bike. With flat bars & geometry even more progressive then the new drop bar Diverge you better hang onto your flannel. We’ve significantly increased the reach slackened the head tube & lowered the bottom bracket to put you ‘in’ the bike for a super planted feeling. From sending technical single track to ripping flowing fire road descents if you’re looking for a partner to take your gravel riding to new levels nothing’s faster more fun or rowdier than the Diverge EVO. The Diverge Comp EVO’s premium E5 Aluminum frame is spec’d with our Future Shock 1.5 specifically tuned for technical gravel riding. The bike’s SRAM NX 1x 11 group Tektro brakes & X-Fusion Manic dropper post add to the Diverge Comp EVO’s boundary pushing abilities. Our new Rhombus 42mm gravel tire the most aggressive gravel tread we make & a set of Axis Elite alloy wheels round out the Diverge Comp EVO’s personality as a capable & rowdy partner. Our Premium E5 Aluminum frame provides a stiff light & durable platform. When mated to our full carbon FACT fork the Diverge EVO becomes a light lively & versatile bike ready to tackle the most technical gravel & dirt as aggressively as you could wish. Speed control & confidence
- Future Shock 1.5 is ideal technology for the gravel rider. With 20mm of axial compliance Future Shock 1.5 is progressively tuned to keep you confident & in control able to keep the power down & stay off the brakes over rough dirt roads & in thick loose gravel all while keeping your hands arms & neck fresh. With the Diverge EVO we took our new progressive gravel geometry to new levels. We’ve lengthened the frame 30mm over a drop bar Diverge (Size Medium) lowered the bottom bracket & slackened the head tube. This gives the Diverge EVO more confidence over technical terrain while keeping the cockpit comfortable with flat bars. It also allows for a short stem to make all that stability feel nimble & quick at the bars. Nothing unlocks a bike’s capability like tire clearance so we gave the Diverge EVO a whopping 47mm of tire clearance with a 700c wheel & 2.1” with a 650b wheel. Thanks to a drive side chain stay utilizing a machined alloy beam behind the chain rings we’ve created clearance without using a fragile dropped chain stay design or increasing chain stay length. This keeps you confident & in control able to keep the power down & stay off the brakes over rough dirt roads & in thick loose gravel all while keeping your hands arms & neck fresh. We tossed gravel geometry ‘status-quo’ out the window. The new Diverge has the most progressive geometry we’ve ever created for a drop bar bike giving riders a capable & stable bike in the dirt that still feels responsive & nimble on the road. We’ve increased the frame’s reach introduced a slacker head tube & a longer offset fork. All this creates incredible confidence with a planted feeling in the dirt while spec’ing shorter stems keeps the overall cockpit length the same & the steering lively. We’ve kept the bike’s BB low to increase stability but high enough to utilize with 650b wheels if that’s your jam. We’ve given the Diverge plenty of rack mounts including fork & top tube mounts to ensure you can take what you need no matter how far you plan to go or how long you plan to stay out. Nothing unlocks a bike’s capability like tire clearance so we gave the new Diverge a whopping 47mm of tire clearance with a 700c wheel & 2.1” with a 650b wheel. The Diverge E5 is equipped with everything you need to head to work take the long way home & hit some fire roads on the weekend. With a completely redesigned frame the new Diverge is more capable than ever. & with the constant goal to best meet your needs we took your number one request into account—tire clearance. The new frame will comfortably fit up to 700x 42mm tires with plenty of room for mud too. Along with tire clearance weight was a large factor in the development & taking some design cues from the development of the Roubaix we developed an E5 Premium Aluminium frame that’s plenty light certainly stiff for hard efforts & undeniable durable. Next up we moved away from a traditional ‘cross geometry instead opting for something that hasn’t been seen before— Open Road Geometry. We know what you’re thinking “it’s just another marketing term” but for the Diverge we truly did develop an entirely new geometry. With a touch less hyperbole you can think of it as a road version of modern trail bike geometry. It provides playful handling & predictable steering for endless dirt skids & mid-corner drifts. The geo features a bottom bracket thats over a half-centimetre lower than the previous Diverge a slacked-out head tube angle short chainstays & a short wheelbase. These changes make for a bike thats not only fun in the dirt but also performs well on the road. And while riding gravel & dirt roads on a road bike may add to the adventure there’s only so much that wider tires with lower pressures can absorb in terms of bumps. With this in mind we implemented a new version of our Future Shock into the Diverge design. It not only soaks up bumps with ease but also adds the benefit of extremely predictable handling. Thats because the wheelbase isn’t lengthening when you hit a bump so the front end of the Diverge keeps the same effective head tube angle. In other words when you dive hard into a turn you won’t be surprised by under steer or sloppy handling. Unlike the original Future Shock the Diverges version features a progressive spring that makes this technology more suitable for off-road applications where stiffer suspension is often needed to soak-up larger bumps & obstacles. To add to its multifaceted talents we topped this Diverge off with three water bottle mounts plus mounts for racks & fenders so it’s equally adept at long trips as it is to short rides to the local brewery. The Diverge E5 Elite frame is topped off with Shimano Claris shifting hassle-free mechanical disc brakes & ultra-strong Axis Sport Disc wheels that are cased in fast-rolling Espoir Sport tires. Our Premium E5 aluminium frameset features our comfortable but confidence-inspiring Open Road Geometry Future Shock suspension with 20mm of travel & front/rear thru-axles making it the ultimate tool for your next adventure. The lightweight FACT carbon fork is plenty stiff aiding in handling rigidity & an overall light weight. Specialized Diverge E5 Comp Road Bike 2019

Narrowing down a bike that can do it all used to be tough going. Sure some work well as a road bike and a cross bike while others are good at commuting and some short road riding but until the Diverge nothing out there was astute at every kind of riding subject. The Diverge E5 Comp however is made for exploring new roads commuting to class and everything in between. It redefines what a road bike can do so ride wherever you want—this bike doesnt take no for an answer. The Diverge is more capable than ever. And with the constant goal to best meet your needs we took your number one request into account—tyre clearance. The new frame will comfortably fit up to 700x38mm tyres with plenty of room for mud too. Along with tyre clearance weight was a large factor in the development
and taking some design cues from the development of the Roubaix we developed an E5 Premium aluminium frame that’s plenty light certainly stiff for hard efforts and undeniable tough. Next up we moved away from a traditional ‘cross geometry instead opting for something that hasn’t been seen before—our Open Road Geometry. You can think of it as a road version of modern trail bike geometry. It provides playful handling and predictable steering for endless dirt skids and mid-corner drifts. The geo features a bottom bracket thats over a half-centimetre lower than the previous Diverge a slacked-out head tube angle short chainstays and a short wheelbase. These changes make for a bike thats not only fun in the dirt but also performs well on the road. And while riding
gravel and dirt roads on a road bike may add to the adventure there’s only so much that wider tyres with lower pressures can absorb in terms of bumps. In other words when you dive hard into a turn you won’t be surprised by under-steer or sloppy handling. Unlike the original Future Shock (found on the Roubaix) the Diverges version features a progressive spring that makes this technology more suitable for off-road applications where stiffer
suspension is often needed to soak-up larger bumps and obstacles. Adding to its multifaceted talents we topped it off with three water bottle mounts plus mounts for racks and fenders. For the spec we wanted to make sure that it shifted crisply and braked smoothly mile after mile so youll find a crisp and reliable Shimano 105 groupset hassle-free Tektro Spyre mechanical disc brakes and an Axis Sport Disc wheelset. Our Premium E5 aluminium frameset features our comfortable and confident Open Road Geometry Future Shock Progressive suspension with 20mm of travel and front/rear thru-axles making it the ultimate tool for your next adventure. The lightweight FACT carbon fork is plenty stiff aiding in handling and a light overall weight. With Shimano 105 taking
the reins on shifting youll experience crisp shifts for years to come.
