These cardboard dolls are called Superbastard & they were created by Undoboy, a Malaysian graphic design artist currently based in Portl&, Oregon (USA). Undoboy's designs are invariably inspired by the motto Design Brings Happiness & his work is varied: editorial design, packaging, illustrations, brand images, interactive designs... Superbastard is one of his best-known projects & has received several awards such as the Comm Arts Illustration & the Design Annual Awards, both in 2007. The collection is made up of 16 rectangular shaped cardboard dolls with removable heads & feet. Each of the rectangle's four sides is illustrated & wears different attire: kitsch, fun, formal, psychedelic, corny, animal, summery... The game consists of choosing a head & feet to go with the outfits proposed for each figure. That way you can create 4 different characters from just one doll. If you don't like any of the heads, you can remove them, underneath you'll find a drawing of a phantasmagoric face that will also give the doll personality. The illustrations include different pop culture icons. The dolls are made out of sturdy cardboard with a matte finish & are printed in full color.
