Product Description

In this 3-day hands-on course, students explore the concepts, design issues, architecture, & terminologies related to OWB. Students use the OWB client to define the sources & warehouse targets, & design ETL mappings to extract, transform, & load data into the targets. Students generate, deploy, & execute OWB design objects to create & populate a target warehouse.

This course covers OWB In-Database that refers to the subset of OWB functionality included in the Oracle Database 11g Release 2 license. This course serves as the prerequisite for the 2-day instructor-led course, Data Integration & ETL with Oracle Warehouse Builder: Part 2. That course focuses on extra-cost optional ETL & Data Integration functionality available in the ODI EE license.

Demonstrations & hands-on practice reinforce the fundamental concepts.

Learn To:

• Retrieve data from different types of sources such as flat files or relational schemas
• Use the different transformation operators to design an ETL task
• Load data by executing the mappings or the process flows
• Use OWB features to manage metadata changes, debug mappings, backup metadata, manage security, & tune the ETL mappings for better performance
• Integrate Warehouse Builder with OBI EE
• Explain the Warehouse Builder architecture & configuration
