With the release of Oracle 11g R2 the first impression was that very little had changed with regards to Real Application Clusters. However first impressions can be deceptive. Once you read the new manuals & actually try to install the software then very quickly you come to a different conclusion: there is much more to this release than you expected at first glance.
During this 2-day seminar we shall be looking at the most significant changes. We shall begin with an installation of the GRID infrastructure. Following this we install the necessary RDBMS software. During these installations we shall highlight any changes in installation procedure. Using our now complete software stack we shall examine, in depth, new features in Oracle Clusterware, Automatic Storage Management & the RDBMS. This examination will include not only the technical impact but also the business impact as a result of any changes. During our analysis we shall be comparing & contrasting with the older releases 10g R2 & 11g R1 where necessary. The seminar will use a demonstration system based upon Oracle Enterprise Linux 5. There are no labs.
