Product Description

This 5-day course covers the absence management tools found in the core Global Payroll product. Utilizing the core global absence functionality, users can track the time payees are out sick, on vacation, or absent for any other reason. Employees & managers can use web-based browser pages, referred to as self-service pages, to enter online requests for absences, view current & future absence balances, & process absences.

During the class, participants will be shown the tools needed to define valid absence reasons, accrual policies, approvals & delegation of authority over absence transactions, & the exact conditions that must be met before an absence can be paid. Using this information, participants will generate payrolls using the Global Payroll core absence functionality.

The course also provides the basic information users need to set up & configure Global Payroll elements, including earnings, deductions, formulas, & brackets; it provides a combination of instruction & practice in setting up processing & organizational structures, defining payee data, running payrolls, & verifying results; it concludes with lessons on running the banking process, reconciling payments, & setting up the general ledger interface. Because this course provides practice in creating a payroll system from the ground up, beginning with the most basic calculation rules & continuing with setup steps such as the definition of accumulators, segmentation triggers, & proration rules, it provides a solid foundation for both implementers & functional analysts who are responsible for developing Global Payroll rules.
