For UMTS it is important that optimization begins early & that it tracks network & traffic load growth. The complex interaction between coverage & capacity in a multimedia Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA)-based system adds another dimension to the radio access network optimization process.
This course provides an interactive introduction to UMTS radio access optimization strategies & techniques & covers all the core knowledge an optimization engineer needs. The course is focused on practical solutions to real-world optimization challenges. It covers all aspects of network access & operation & provides the student with a toolbox of parameter- & feature-based solutions. The student will learn about the parameters that impact user equipment behaviour & the impact these parameters may have on performance. The course also contains carefully designed optimization exercises.
