This five-day instructor-led class teaches students how to configure & use advanced features of Web Sphere Application Server V6.1 Network Deployment in Windows & Linux environments.
In this class, students build their working knowledge of Web Sphere Application Server V6.1 Network Deployment administration, configuration, security, & workload management. Through numerous hands-on activities & group discussions that emphasize best practices, students develop a solid understanding of how to design, configure, & manage a Network Deployment cell.
The class begins with a thorough discussion of Web Sphere Application Server architecture & provides an opportunity to bring all participants to a similar level of understanding. Students create & configure a fully-working Web Sphere Application Server cell spanning multiple machines & operating systems.
From the beginning, the cell functions with security enabled. Students discuss the intricacies of end-to-end security, Java 2 Platform security, Enterprise Edition (J2EE) security, Secure Sockets Layers (SSL), & digital signatures that are relevant to administrators, & build skills through hands-on exercises in setting up SSL & using Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) or local registries.
The cell also takes advantage of workload management. Students articulate, design, & implement robust workload management scenarios for improving performance & managing server failover. In addition to the topics mentioned above, this class also covers Web Sphere Platform Messaging, an introduction to Dynacache, & configuring Name service bindings.
