1. Wi MAX Players & Drivers 60mins Expanding on material covered in the pre-learning, this section focuses on the drivers behind Wi MAX. It discusses the key players, as well as the main features supported by Wi MAX. The section concludes with a discussion on Wi MAX system profiles, certification profiles & releases. 2. Wi MAX Architectures 90mins This section details the Wi MAX Network Reference Model, describing features such as ASN Profiles A, B & C, Base Stations & ASN Gateway functionality. In addition, the MAC and Physical layers are introduced, along with the concept of a CID. Finally, the CSN architecture & Wi MAX reference points are discussed. 3. The 802.16 Physical Layers 60mins This section focuses on OFDM & OFDMA concepts. For each, the frame structure & burst concept are examined. The section outlines the use of scaleable OFDMA, including the use of PUSC & FUSC zones in Mobile Wi MAX. Finally, basic radio planning for fixed & mobile networks is discussed. 4. 802.16 Medium Access Control 60mins This section examines the functions of MAC, discussing the generic MAC header, sub-headers & payload formats. In addition, the different CID's are identified, as well as the mapping to MAC signalling messages. Finally, the MAC CS layer, security, scheduling, bandwidth allocation & feedback are addressed. 5. Wi MAX Initial Procedures 90mins The process of system acquisition is detailed in this section. ThisThis unique four day Wi MAX training course is the only Wi MAX RF Network Design course available that is Wi MAX Forum authorised.
