Product Description

This course introduces the complete Accelerator Compass product line & is specific to release 6.x of the software. Subjects focused on during this class include explanations of the caching technology, application specific acceleration technologies (e.g. for TCP, Web, Citrix, etc.), configuration in ON-PATH & ON-LAN environments, resilience (eg HSRP, WCCP) & the use of RIP/OSPF. All advanced features are covered, including advanced Link parameters & web, Citrix & TCP acceleration. Layer 7 classification & Qo S bandwidth management are studied as are administration & troubleshooting techniques, logging features & the various web based monitoring & reporting tools.

The course concentrates on configuration using the web browser interface but also covers use of appropriate CLI commands for the building & monitoring of links where appropriate. The extensive graphical monitoring facilities are discussed for both links & applications before studying the classification & Qo S / traffic shaping features & the advanced configuration options. Finally, trouble-shooting techniques & administrative tasks are covered which include Accelerator events & logging; SNMP & Net Flow; backing up & upgrading software; etc.

The course involves a mix of theory, discussions, & practical exercises. Students will gain plenty of hands-on experience with all aspects of the Accelerator product line, & with the AOS user interface.
