This course is designed for those who require a good grounding in the use of Ethernet to create local area networks that support an array of applications. It ensures that all of the "basics" of Ethernet are fully understood (the fundamental protocol & operation) before examining the way in which networks are created & the array of options available today, including the various media (copper, fibre, wireless). It then considers the various environments in which Ethernet is deployed & the applications it is used to support, by explaining the use of VLANs & Qo S & then MPLS, etc. Several case studies are used to examine implementation examples
