This course focuses on the flexibility afforded by using BEA Web Logic Server 9/10 & its implementation of the J2EE
Specification & Eclipse 3.1 & Workshop for BEA Web Logic Platform TM (on Web Logic Server 10) during Web-based application development.
Students will learn the core features of the presentation components (Servlets & JSPs) & service technologies (naming services, distributed transactions, & multi-tier database access) as they map to the widely used Model-View-Controller (MVC) application architecture. This course also covers the deployment of Web applications, using XML-based configuration files & the BEA Web Logic Server Administration Console.
in addition, students are introduced to the concepts of design patterns & how they are used in the MVC design architecture.
Students will get a brief introduction to the motivation & client-side use of EJBs. The complete EJB development & deployment will be covered in the follow-on course: BEA Web Logic Server 9.0: Developing EJBs in Eclipse.
