The MOONRAKER manufactured in 1992 is currently the fastest mega yacht of the world with 124 km/h. Its owner John Staluppi held the record once with his earlier yacht OCTOPUSSY (99 km/h). Staluppi gave the task of drafting & designing to Frank Mulder, whose Dutch studio Mulder Design specialises in the project planning of high-quality motor yachts. The yacht was built in the shipyard Ulstein Eikefjord Marine, which belongs to the group of Norwegian shipyards Norship. The MOONRAKER costing over 15 million was originally planned with three MTU-diesel engines. Two 16 V 396 TB 94 each with 3480 HP at two controllable Ka Me Wa jets on the outside & one 12 V 183 TE 92 with 1200 HP at a booster jet in the middle. Fuelling tests, however, revealed that with this only a speed of approx. 85 km/h can be achieved. Thus, the middle diesel engine was replaced by a TF-40 gas turbine of Textron Lycoming with 4600 HP. The total power now became 11560 HP. In trial runs in Norway the yacht achieved a speed of 124 km/h. The model of MOONRAKER has been replicated prototypically in the scale of approx. 1:25 as per the documents of Mulder Design. It is meant mainly for the demanding & experienced modellers. Owing to the many rounded shapes most of the parts are made from deep-drawn plastic (ABS). The model is fitted with 3 JET drives, of which both the outer ones can be controlled as in the prototype. The JET-drives enable a very narrow cornering as well as reverse drive without reversing the polarity of the engines. At about half the speed of the engines one can bring the model to a standstill by activating the reversing unit of the model & rotate it at this point by rudder deflection. Upon a simultaneous engagement of the cross-steel rudder a sideways movement of the ship is also possible. Both the two outer JET drives are controlled simultaneously by means of a drive controller, while the middle JET booster is switched to that with a switch (MINI-SWITCH 40) via an additional cha... ...

Container ships, like the SYDNEY STAR, can always be seen more frequently in the seas of the world, because the use of worldwide standardised container makes the loading & unloading of goods easier & faster. For this reason almost all goods are transported via containers. For transporting over long stretches (Asia
- Europe
- America) large container ships with high capacities are used, which can touch at only certain ports. These ports are especially equipped for handling the container, as such these ships do not need any loading bridges. The further transportation of the container is then done with smaller container ships (coastal motor vessels) or via car & railways. The SYDNEY STAR is a prototypical replica of a long-stretch container ship. All the typical features & details are replicated in the model, in order to get an exact replica of this ship as far as possible. The high degree of pre-fabrication of many parts through CNC-machining or punching as well as the many fitting parts included in the kit, such as winches, the die ladderways & the injection-moulded railing, enormously simplify the building of the model. Still, the building of the model is recommended only for experienced ship modellers. Through both the cross-steel rudders in the bow & the tail the model can rotate without any problem at the point cross-set without tug assistance.

The shrimp boat KRABBE TÃ-N 12 is a fishing vessel, which can be seen mainly in the North Sea. It is built especially for catching shrimps & the rigging is designed accordingly for that. Large fishing nets hang at two booms. During the trip to the catching areas they are heaved high almost till the mast. The model of the shrimp boat is made & designed according to the original document in the scale 1:25 in such a way that it justifies even the spoilt demands. The shaped ship's hull contained in the kit, the rudder & the keel shells as well as the shrimp cooker made from ABS-plastic & many injection-moulded parts simplify the construction & shorten the construction time. With the electric motor adjusted according to the performance the model develops a considerable drive power. ...

Wp The Little Owl

The small UHU is the consequente enhancement of the previous model. In order to reduce the building effort considerably, the wing modelling has been changed i.e. the wing has no longer been made in spar/ribbed design and stringed with paper, but else is now made in the famous Jedelsky-design. By using a profile-shaped wing front-part, punched ribs for the setup of the wing as well as plastic moulded parts for building the hull the assembly can be done quickly even by the less experienced modellers. The aerofoil is provided with a locking so that it always sits in the same position on the fuselage. The small UHU can be flown with or without thermal brakes. The required space is provided in the left side of the fuselage for installing the time switch. Upon start-up the automatic turn
controller is triggered after disengaging.
