The ASUS FX-D1162 has 2 VIP or Priority-Ports. These ports have a higher priority than the other normal LAN-ports. That means, that in the case of a data jam on the network due to low bandwidth, the largest part of the bandwidth will be reserved for the two priority ports. Also all other data packets are stopped in order to transmit only the data traffic with the highest priority on the VIP ports. This ensures that network traffic is routed with the highest priority (such as the RTP stream of a Vo IP connection) with the least disruption.
