This album documents a Steve Earle performance in London from 1988, when Earle was at his commercial peak, touring in support of his COPPERHEAD ROAD album. Accordingly, there are plenty of tunes from that album, including the title track & " The Devil's Right H&, which mark a more rocking direction than he'd followed on his first two records (though those are also represented in the set). If anything, Earle's sound is even rougher & rowdier here than on COPPERHEAD ROAD.
