The XF14mm ultra-wide prime lens has a 35mm equivalent focal length of 21mm, making it perfectly suitable for shooting landscapes, cityscapes & architecture. Optimum lens design allows for best quality images. The lens structure consists of ten elements in seven groups, including two aspheric & three extra-low dispersion (ED) elements, & a seven-blade rounded diaphragm which helps to create beautiful bokeh in the out-of-focus areas of the image. Distortion is corrected by the aspherical glass elements. Only four lenses in front of the aperture blades dramatically reduces ghosting. Three ED lenses behind the aperture blades eliminate chromatic aberrations. The lens features distance & depth of field scales on the barrel, making it suitable for a range of shooting techniques such as pre-focusing. A precision-machined 1/3-step aperture ring gives versatile control. By reducing the distance between the rear lens element & the sensor, light fall-off towards the edges of the frame is minimised, while resolution is maintained from edge to edge.
