ADVANCED AF SYSTEM The EOS C100 Mark II features Dual Pixel CMOS Autofocus, which enables continuous AF with over 100 compatible EF lenses. This sensor-based, phase-detection autofocus (AF) technology is designed to provide smooth, high-performance continuous focus in movies. It is a unique, Canon-developed technology, ideal for fast & accurate autofocus, that helps filmmakers to create stunning footage which maximises the creative options offered by fast lenses & shallow depth-of-field. The EOS C100 Mark II camera with Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology features a CMOS sensor that consists of an array of pixels that each feature two separate photodiodes. By continuously comparing their outputs during AF Mode, phase detection autofocus helps to ensure non-blurred images & smooth focus transitions even when the subjects and/or camera are moving. This feature places a high priority on maintaining sharp focus while, providing a natural, smooth autofocus movement with selected Canon EF lenses that offer even smoother & quieter operation. Also available on the EOS C100 Mark II is Face Detection AF*, which is offered in two modes: Face Priority AF & Face Only AF. To allow for maximum coverage of the image that can use this facility when Face AF modes are activated, Dual Pixel CMOS Autofocus is switched off & instead the camera uses Contrast AF to achieve sharp focus. * Face Detection AF available with Canon EF-S STM lenses. HIGH SENSITIVITY, LOW NOISE The EOS C100 Mark II offers high sensitivity recording with an impressive ISO range from 320 right up to ISO 102, 400. These extended ISO capabilities allow users to record images more brightly with low noise in extreme low-light shooting environments. DUAL FORMAT RECORDING AT UP TO 1080/60p The EOS C100 Mark II allows users to record footage onto both memory cards, choosing between relay recording – where the recording card automatically switches to the other when full – or simultaneous recording where both cards record the same material, providing an automatic backup. In addition, the camera further extends this capability by allowing Dual Format Recording. This feature allows operators to simultaneously record at up to 1080/60p, storing AVCHD files to one SD card while the second SD card records MP4 files. Operators can even capture AVCHD footage in HD whilst recording MP4 files in SD resolution for maximum workflow flexibility & quick turn-around. The camera also features a selectable continuous recording option. This function continues to record regardless of the Start/ Stop button setting & is available in AVCHD mode only. EASE OF USE & HANDLING The EOS C100 Mark II is designed for effortless, single-operator filmmaking. Thanks to feedback from users & industry professionals, the EOS C100 Mark II has been fine-tuned to incorporate further advancements to help the needs of the lone operator. An enhanced EVF is now larger (at 1.1cm) & can be tilted to any angle up to 68 degrees to suit the operator & shooting conditions, while a new, 8.8cm, 1.23 million pixel OLED display is articulated & can be tilted & adjusted to suit a wide variety of shooting applications. The EOS C100 Mark II’s lightweight, ergonomic design makes it easy to pack & comfortable to hold & use – even in tight shooting situations. A robust, splash-resistant body with magnesium alloy components provides the durability needed to go wherever a story takes you. With even more customisable options – including 17 assignable function buttons & extensive Custom Picture options – the C100 Mark II allows the user to fully optimise the camera to their own personal preferences. WIFI CONNECTIVITY The original EOS C100 was designed from the outset with the needs of the lone operator in mind. Making life easier & more convenient for the user, who does not have a crew to take care of every aspect of production, was therefore a critical factor. Continuing this development the EOS C100 Mark II comes with built-in Wi Fi to allow for Browser Remote control as well as the ability to upload & share content via an FTP file transfer function. The camera is also compatible with the optional RC-V100 remote control to further extend functionality & creativity when shooting in studio or on location. CANON LOG & WIDE DR GAMMA For the widest possible latitude in footage, & where total control is necessary, Canon Log Gamma provides 12 stops of latitude (800% dynamic range) for maximum flexibility in post-production. It enables detailed adjustment for highlight & shadow & broadens the range of colour grading. The EOS C100 Mark II features an additional Wide Dynamic Range (Wide DR) Gamma feature that produces smooth changes in brightness, seamless gradations, & reproduces clear skin tones with uniform colours; thus delivering footage that can be used without colour grading. EXTERNAL RECORDING POSSIBILITIES For productions where image quality is absolutely paramount the EOS C100 Mark II is a compact powerhouse that offers clean, uncompressed HDMI output which can be used for high bit rate recording with compatible external devices. Timecode & 2:3 pull-down markers can be embedded in the output signal as required. COMPREHENSIVE LENS COMPATIBILITY & BUILT-IN FILTERS Expand your creative options with a huge range of interchangeable lenses. Aside from the stereo microphone found on the detachable handle, the camera has two XLR input sockets on the top handle with a 3.5mm jack on the main camera body. DIGIC DV4 PROCESSOR New to the Cinema EOS range of Digital Cinema Cameras is the DIGIC DV4 processor, which provides enhanced image reproduction, supplementing the strengths of the DIGIC DV family – such as smooth gradation & faithful colour reproduction – with support for recording at higher data rates. The sensor & processor work together with the same 2K RGB processing system as found on the larger EOS C500 Digital Cinema Camera. This ensures reduction in both moiré & aliasing, resulting in cleaner, sharper images. DUAL PIXEL CMOS AF Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology is a groundbreaking innovation from Canon. The sensor in the EOS C100 Mark II is composed of two separate photodiodes for each pixel in order to achieve high-speed readout. With full rein given to these characteristics the sensor is capable of detecting two image signals from each pixel. The pioneering Dual Pixel CMOS AF function offers fast, smooth & accurate focusing when used with a huge range of EF lenses. SUPER35MM CMOS SENSOR Canon develops & manufactures its own sensors & has incorporated an 8.3MP Super 35mm CMOS sensor in the EOS C100 Mark II. This sensor has a pixel size that is larger than that for conventional professional camcorders, enabling greater light-gathering capabilities for enhanced sensitivity & reduced noise. The camera uses a system developed for Canon’s flagship EOS C500 Digital Cinema Camera, which processes the native 8.3MP readout to produce the very best HD image quality. Supported by a heightened signal read-out speed, the CMOS sensor reduces rolling shutter skews, a phenomenon prevalent with CMOS sensors in which fast-moving subjects may appear diagonally distorted.
