Open End Frames are made from spring steel with a 3/8" pin & support which can be used to hang the Scrim from the C-Stand handle when not in use. The two upright arms of the frame are slotted at the two open ends to retain the piano wire woven through the fabric to make up the fourth side of the frame without causing a shadow. Open Ends are used to control ormanipulate light falling on certain areas of the set or subject. They can be used to soften or reduce light without a noticeable edge. A color coded binding is used around the frame to identify the fabric. Matthews Open End Frames are black powder coated to minimize unwanted reflections. ...

The 12-24mm f/4G ED-IF AF-S DX is an aultra-wide angle zoom lens for exclusive use with Nikon DX-format Digital SLRs. 2x Zoom ratio & variable angle-of-view from 99 degrees at 12mm to 61 degrees at 24mm. Comparable to that of an 18-36mm lens on 35mm size sensor format. Nikon design that produces a smaller image circle (the size of the image that is projected by the lens on to the sensor) enabling smaller lens diameter, & optimal image quality from center-to-edge-to-corner on the image. Exclusive Silent Wave Motor enables ultra-high-speed autofocusing with exceptional accuracy & powerful super-quiet operation 2 Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) glass elements for minimized chromatic aberration. M/A mode enables instant switching from autofocus to manual with virtually no time lag even during AF servo operation. Nikon D-type design provides precise distance information for flash & ambient light exposure processes. Rounded diaphragm to make out-of-focus elements appear more natural. Designed for Nikon D-Series digital SLR Design enables a combination of wider angle-of-view with optical characteristics that are optimized for Nikon digital SLR camera sensors 2x Zoom ratio & variable angle-of-view from 99 degrees at 12mm to 61 degrees at 24mm. This ultra wide angle zoom lens incorporates the latest optical design & provides superior performance. FLD (“F” Low Dispersion) glass elements, which have performance equal to fluorite, & SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements provide excellent correction of colour aberration. Aspherical lenses give advanced performance with a compact & lightweight construction & ensure high image quality throughout the entire zoom range. The Super Multi-Layer Coating reduces flare & ghosting & incorporation of HSM ensures quiet & high speed autofocus as well as full-time manual focus capability. This lens has superior peripheral brightness & provides sharp & high contrast images even at the maximum apertures. Full frame ultra wide angle zoom lens Sigma designed & produced the first wide-angle zoom lens, the “zoom gamma 21-35mm F3.5-4”, in 1979. Sigma has since introduced a number of wide angle zoom lenses. The SIGMA 12-24mm F4.5-5.6 II DG HSM is the successor of the SIGMA 12-24mm F4.5-5.6 EX DG ASPHERICAL / HSM which was launched in November 2003. This ultra wide angle zoom lens is ideal for digital SLRs with a 35mm full frame image sensor & incorporates the latest optical design. Superior image quality Four FLD (“F” Low Dispersion) glass elements, which have performance equal to fluorite, & one SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass element provide excellent correction of colour aberration. Three glass mold elements & one hybrid aspherical compensate for all types of aberration & ensure high optical performance. *FLD glass is the highest level low dispersion glass available with extremely high light transmission. This optical glass has a performance equal to fluorite glass which has a low refractive index & low dispersion compared to current optical glass. It also benefits from high anomalous dispersion. These characteristics give excellent correction for residual chromatic aberration (secondary spectrum) which cannot be corrected by ordinary optical glass & ensures high definition & high contrast images. Super Multi-Layer Coating Sigma’s Super Multi-Layer Coating reduces flare & ghosting which could otherwise create problems when extraneous light hits the lens’ front element. It also provides sharp & high contrast images throughout the entire zoom range. Superior peripheral brightness The design of front lens group minimizes light fall off & increases peripheral brightness. Exaggerated perspective The wide-angle of view produces striking images with exaggerated perspective, enabling photographers to emphasize the subject. Compact construction Incorporation of four aspherical lenses provides a compact construction with a diameter of 85mm, overall length of 120.2mm & weight of 670g. The compact construction makes this lens ideal for travel photography. Quiet & high speed autofocus Incorporation of HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) ensures quiet & high speed autofocus, while allowing full-time manual focus override. Inner focusing system This lens incorporates an inner focusing system, which eliminates front lens rotation which also minimises fluctuation of aberration caused by the focusing system. Petal-type hood This lens is equipped with a built-in petal-type hood to block out extraneous light & reduce internal reflections. ...

12"x18" Flag

Newly designed 90 deg. Flag and Cutter frames will make it possible to position the instrument over the top of the set wall or to use two or more units to create a box for better light control. With this new design, there are now three square corners as opposed to the older design providing just two. In addition, the 48"x48" frames have been squared off with the removal of the mouse ears. Flags are square or rectangular frames with mounting pins attached and covered with a solid cloth material. Used to control light, whether natural or artificial. Flags can be used to protect the camera lens from flares or to control spill light from other sources, or keep light from reaching certain areas on the set. Known as Flags up to sizes 24"x36", larger or more irregular sizes are referred to
as Cutters, Floppies are Cutters which have an extra layer of material sewn to one edge and held in place with Velcro until needed at which time the Flag or Cutter becomes twice its original size. Use the number with a (B) after it for Bottom Hinge and the number with a (T) after it to specify Top Hinge. All Matthews Scrims and Flags are bordered with heavy duty color coded webbing.
