The Samyang 800mm MC IF f/8 Mirror lens is a super telephoto, manual focus fixed f/8 aperture reflex lens, designed primarily for amateur & enthusiasts. This 800mm version is constructed especially for extreme telephoto applications, yet is still relatively compact at 145 mm long, & lightweight at around 950g. The Samyang 800mm features a relatively bright, fixed f 8 aperture for its size & extreme focal length. Suitable for photographing nature, astro-photography, spy / observational photography or any situation where a low priced, ultra long telephoto is required. The construction of the Samyang 800mm mirror lens combines high quality metal exterior, styled in black & white, & great optical to price performance. The optics feature Multi-coated (MC) coatings ensuring high light transmission. This is a manual focus lens, of internal focusing (IF) design. Due to the very narrow depth of field with such a long focal length it is recommended to focus with live-view to achieve accurate focus where possible. As with all long telephoto lenses a combination of sturdy camera support / substantial tripod, good technique, fast shutter speed, & use of remote / mirror lock up is recommended to avoid camera shake to achieve the best results.
