Pierre-Joseph Buc'hoz (1731–1807) was a French naturalist, physician, & lawyer. He published Collection precieuse et enluminée… in 1776, toward the end of the European chinoiserie movement; it was the first Western publication to include the work of native Chinese artists. The twelve images here were selected from Collection precieuse et enluminée… in the collection of The New York Botanical Garden's Lu Esther T. Mertz Library. This "A Botantical Treasury" calendar contains twelve monthly grids & full-colour artwork.
