Overview

If you're one of the many fans that fell in love with the award winning TV adaptation of Call the Midwife then you can jump in to the heart-warming world created by Jennifer Worth with The Official Call the Midwife tour, overseen by the show's producers at Neal Street Productions. You and your guest will be exploring the historic Chatham Dockyard which has been the backdrop for many of the show's most iconic scenes. Led by your very own costumed midwife you’ll walk along the roads, and pass slums and warehouses which are the midwife's backdrop as they cycle around the east end. Once you’ve explored every corner of Poplar you can find out what other gems are hidden at Chatham Dockyard, including props, sets, costumes and material from the latest series.

Fab guide Irene and great tour!
23 July 2022
Bought this as a Christmas gift for my mum. Lovely location, well organised, and our guide Irene was very knowledgeable and funny too! She showed us around the dockyard for 90 minutes, showing us where lots of scenes were filmed, and explaining about the production of the show etc. The cost of the tour also includes the rest of the things in the dockyard so you can spend longer here too. Would have given 5 stars if you got to meet any of the cast or more people involved in the show. Good experience.

The tour was wonderful, the guide was pleasant, friendly, and was well informed and the show and the ship yard. There was a lot to see and do. Not only could we go on the tour we could also look and go around the ships and other parts of the shipyard. We were alos lucky that we have fantastic weather

The tour guide was AMAZING! Anyone would think it was her first tour the enthusiasm she had but she has done it since they started the tours. The tour is very enlightening and very informative and the tour guide really seem to know her stuff. You could after the tour look all around the rest of the dockyard which was amazing I loved looking around the lifeboat museum! Overall lovely day out ????

Lovely Day Out For Call the Midwife Fans
14 September 2021
Our Tour Guide Irene was very interesting and the very knowledgeable on all aspects of the tour. We got an insight into how the show is filmed which is quite amazing.. Was a ninety minute walk - so be prepared with comfortable shoes. Would definitely recommend this - you also access to the Dockyard area so give yourself plenty of time.

Gift for a huge fan
25 June 2021
I bought this gift for my Mums 85th birthday in 2019, but due to covid have only just been able to take the tour. It was well worth waiting for. Mum & I had a brilliant day at Chatham Docks & the tour was informative & fun. There was a lot of walking but Mum managed fine & everyone on the tour was so kind. There is an opportunity to see all at the docks before or after the tour. Lovely to see how the buildings are used in the programme. Would thoroughly recommend this day out
