Afternoon Tea for Two at Thornbury Castle Hotel 1073529

Thornbury castle itself is beautiful. The staff were nice apart from one member who questioned allergies but not in a nice way and then didn’t check in on us again to see how everything was despite other staff seeing to their tables. Food was average and not a huge amount. I have been for afternoon tea at thornbury castle before and do feel the standard has definitely changed for the worst. I wouldn’t be rushing back.

The castle and surroundings are Beautiful, we had our afternoon tea in the library which was very tranquil, we had mother in law staying so asked if we could bring her along, the staff were very obliging and even brought her extra tea, she shared our sandwiches and cakes and we still brought some home with us, they were delicious, after tea we took a walk around the gardens which are beautiful, this was a very high class afternoon tea and well worth the money, many thanks to the staff for making us feel so welcome

We had a lovely experience. The tea was stunning, so delicious and the staff were very attentive. The gardens at the Castle were fantastic. So glad we did this, it was wonderful.

I have lived in Bristol for most of my life (over 60 years) and yet I have never been to this gem of a place! From the moment we arrived at the entrance and saw the Tudor building, I knew I was in for treat. The interior was beautiful. The tea itself was both delightful and delicious, and those serving us were very efficient and made sure we had everything we needed - checking with us every now and again. My only 'complaint' was that, having driven into the grounds on our first visit to Thornbury Castle, it wasn't obvious where we had to go to get to the car park (it was through an archway in the building) so we stopped to ask another visitor.

Beautiful surrounds, beautifully festive. Quite a few people having afternoon tea, and the rooms were clean, full of character and staff attentive. Would love to stay here and return. It comes very highly recommended.

Delightful venue, staff friendly and very attentive and more than enough to eat. Our second visit and it will not be our last!

From start to finish, just a great treat for my mums birthday.. staff, service, location and quality were all fantastic..

I was given this as a retirement gift by my colleagues in 2021 but have only just been able to get a booking that suited myself and my daughter. The service was friendly and courteous and the food lovely. From the finger sandwiches to the warm scones it was all delicious. Add to that the beautiful historic surroundings and it all adds up to a lovely treat.

Enjoyed tea at Thornbury Castle. We had 4 small finger sandwiches each,two warm scones with jam and cream and several small cakes and tea to drink. We both loved everything we had to eat and the tea tasted lovely, however, we were both full and brought home the cakes we couldn't eat. We both agreed, that more sandwiches and less cakes would of been nice as it was all to sweet to eat in one go. I would recommend to anyone who was thinking of going, even though it is a bit pricey. We were lucky as we had a voucher. Over all a very enjoyable time.
