- copper (CU) & aluminium/copper hybrid (ALCU). Both coolers are identical except that the CU version is heavier & offers better cooling thanks to the superior conduction of copper versus aluminium. In practice this equates to a lower CPU running temperature of around 3C for a high-end system. If you crave the lowest possible CPU temperature then we suggest you purchase the CU version, but otherwise the ALCU version still offers excellent performance & is less expensive. Motherboard cooling As with all Zalmans 7000 series coolers, the unique design of the product allows not only the processor to be cooled, but also its surrounding components as shown on the image below.
