Gigabit Ethernet connectivity to the network is included to maximise performance when used with a Gigabit switch or Wireless N router. **Safe-file sharing locally or over the Internet** Based on the Internet Protocol (IP), the DNS-313 is not tied to any particular operating system and is suitable for use in Windows environments. Note: DNS-313 set-up wizard is not MAC compatible. The DNS-313 must be set-up on a Windows compatible machine; once it has an IP address and the drives are formatted it can then be mounted on a MAC. The DNS-313 includes an FTP server*, allowing files to be accessed remotely over the Internet as well as on the local network. Users and/or
groups may be configured and assigned to folders with either read or read/write permissions.
