Crucial LRDIMM (Load-Reduced DIMM) server memory is the latest addition to Crucial's robust server memory lineup. Servers that support LRDIMMs allow users to double the available installed memory density per server & garner greater channel density by populating more DIMMs per channel. Engineered to advance overall data center performance & reliability, Crucial LRDIMMs are available in module densities up to 32GB & kits up to 96GB. LRDIMMs support up to double the installed memory density as a result of reduced electrical loads presented to the CPU. Because of these reduced electrical loads, the server is able to run the memory at a higher frequency, enabling up to a 35% increase in memory bandwidth when compared to standard DDR3 Registered DIMMs (RDIMM). LRDIMMs use 1.35V compared to traditional 1.5V that standard DDR3 RDIMMs run, making them more energy efficient & further contributing to the reduction of power consumption in the data center. LRDIMM technology is ideal for supporting the implementation of complex technologies such as server virtualization, cloud computing, & other HPC (high performance computing) applications. in addition, Crucial LRDIMMs fully support Intel's next-generation Xeon processor E5 family.
