The Secure Audio & Microphone Switch can be used to reduce security risks caused by the vulnerabilities of analog signals in a digital environment by reducing the number of exposed microphones that can be exploited by malicious software attacks; reducing security risks caused by user errors when multiple headsets/microphones are preset; eliminating the microphone-switching function from the KVM to isolate it from the USB (Universal Serial Bus) & PS2 signals; incorporating an external microphone mute button to shut off the microphone when the Switch is not in use or while handling calls where the microphone is not required; preventing the system's mute switch from being manipulated by software or driver with a hardware mute switch.
