' Solid' doesn't quite seem enough to describe one of our Sleeper Coffee Tables... if you want a slab of industrial/rustic chic in front of your sofa, that will take everything you can throw at it, while looking better & better the more use it gets, look no further! Made from unseasoned 'green' solid oak, with all the natural features, splits & markings intact. The timber may shrink slightly & develop small splits as it dries: oak for internal use is normally kiln-dried to make it more stable for this reason. We apply coats of danish oil, which add some waterproofing & colour protection, but eventually the timber will weather naturally. As this is such a heavy item, it is designed as four separate parts that just need to be slotted together for assembly. It is wrapped as three separate parcels for delivery for ease of handling. Whenever possible, we source our wood from industrial offcuts, excess stocks & reclaim sources in the UK. All solid timber can change as it ages, & you should protect your product from constant changes in temperature & humidity. Please note that the colour & figuring of wood varies quite a lot, & even similar pieces can develop differently during oiling.
