After a hard life in the construction industry, this is where timber comes to relax... These chunky & solid reclaimed beams are dried & toasted & brushed, which brings out the natural grain & colours of the timber. You will see natural features such as splits & usage markings, which give the tables their character. We apply a simple beeswax finish, which means spills will bead rather than soak straight in, but we don't use a full sealant such as varnish
- the timber looks much better without, & the patina you add through your own use will just add to your table's story. Whenever possible, we source our wood from industrial offcuts, excess stocks & reclaim sources in the UK. All solid timber can change as it ages, & you should protect your product from constant changes in temperature & humidity. Please note that the colour & figuring of wood varies quite a lot, & even similar pieces can develop differently during finishing.
