Our Doorstops are handmade from solid English Oak beams, the same grade of timber which you will find used to construct timber framed houses. These beams have been sat outside, air drying, for as long as two years. They are then taken from there & kiln dried for another six to eight month. In this time the beams have done there moving & twisting & cracks have appeared. This is when our handpicking policy comes into its own. We get to choose the best looking beams for the job, the ones with the most character, with the prettiest nots & cracks. Diamonds in the rough.
