A dining table that uses its runners as its structure & a chair that integrates shadow into its structure. The runners run the length of the table, falling off the edge to become the legs. By combining the thin steel legs with a substantial walnut table top it gives a look of real weightlessness & buoyancy as if the table top is floating, & the runners just drape from the sides. At first glance the chairs seem to defy gravity by standing upright while only having two front legs, but on closer inspection the shadow is part of the chair.
