Through the study of botanical sources of inspiration, ' Coalescence ii' exists as piece of collected, abstracted, surreal & almost alien piece of sculptural glass. Derived from many different points of reference, such as twisting vines & microscopic pollen, I explore form, space, material & texture, using only the purity of transparent glass & light Coalescence ii is now Approx. a year a half old. It was the piece that I felt truly satisfied at having made. I now see it as the 'calling card' for myself & my aesthetic, & it never fails to be a source of inspiration. It in effect represents the journey of development I went through at the RCA to develop my accute & critical feelings about glass. These 'ideas' eventually led me to make ' Coalescence ii' & that now feeds into all my bespoke designing work, & is helping me to forge out a career in glass. Each print is on a unique page of vintage dictionary paper, so no two are alike. One of the great things about prints on antique dictionary pages is not only the beauty & making for an interesting read but it also upcycles books giving them new life. In the spirit of recycling we use dictionary pages for our prints that have character flaws with some spotting & occasional corner bending. All our book pages have that beautiful golden patina colour that only comes from age which results in a unique & absolutely beautiful print suitable for framing.
