This lampwork glass necklace was handmade in my studio from Vetrofond Italian glass. It is a continuation of the exploration of pressing glass that began in my Droplet series & which I am calling my Droplet Stick series. The center long bead is comprised of a glass donut bail, a pressed glass circle, a long cylinder of glass & a pressed glass circle made from transparent light steel grey glass. The two side beads are similar, slightly shorter & without the initial pressed disc. All 3 pieces are well-fused & the spacers shown will be included with the glass beads. I am truly inspired by the possibilities in the manipulation & organization of these glass discs, & will continue this exploration to see where it leads me. The beads measure between Approx. 75mm & 63mm high x 12mm wide x 9mm thick at the bail (3" to 2 1/2" high x 1/2" x 3/8"). This set is modern yet feminine, & would look just as lovely with a tank top as with a gown. Dressed up or dressed down, this set is a stunner! I am including an 18" 1.5mm sterling silver omega wire necklace to complete this look! All of my glasswork has been kiln annealed for longevity & cleaned with a diamond reamer. The beads were created on a 3/32" mandrel. Light Tin is a lampshade handcrafted from redesigned post consumer food tins. The tin has a metal attachment on the inside which affixes to any hanging ceiling light fixture to make an intriguing yet practical lampshade. The tins are powder coated to give a high quality glossy finish while the inside of the tins are left in their natural state which reflects the light from the bulb. The Light Tin is available in 3 bold colours, red, blue & yellow. It measures approx 22cm in diameter & 25cm in height. These tins have been up-cycled into a functional product & have been saved from recycling thereby reducing energy consumption & turning waste into a value added item. The Light Tins look great in a kitchen with 3 hung in a row above a counter top or arranged in a cluster at different levels.
