The Franz pant features Westbeach's Elevation Fabric Technology and is rated at 20, 000mm/15, 000g, so they'll look after you if the famous Whistler storms close in while their light weight,  venting and breathability make them ideal to wear in spring conditions too. When Franz Wilhelmsen was pioneering the Whistler valley in the 1960's ski clothing was heavy, hot and waterproofing was an ideal rather than a given, who knows what he might have achieved had his eponymous pant been available then!
