- 2012 Way back in 2006 there was a revolution brewing in the snowboard world. At that time there were as many brands, give or take, as there are now & every brand had a plethora of snowboards in their stables but every one of them had the same basic camber profile, a camber profile that had been based on a ski design. Lib Tech was at the forefront of the 2006 revolution, they debuted the Skate Banana & changed the profile of snowboarding forever by re-introducing reverse camber & inventing magne-traction. Now, some years on from that breakthrough year, there are as many different camber profiles as there are snowboard companies but the Skate Banana is the board that started the revolution & it remains largely unchanged from 2006. The Skate Banana features Lib Tech's BTX profile, a continuous rocker that starts from the centre point of the board and increases float, reduces the risk of catching an edge & makes buttering & spinning more intuitive & easier to l&. The BTX profile also features Magne-traction, a serrated edge profile that give the rider 7 points of contact along the edge for greatly enhanced edge hold in icy or hard-packed snow. The Skate Banana has won so many awards since its launch that there are too many to list here, you can rest assured that it's a super fun board that can be ridden by any level of rider who is looking for a mid flexing board for freestyle & pow, it's not often you get to ride a revolution...! Lib Tech Skate Banana Snowboard 159 - Red/Blue - 2013

Lib Tech Skate Banana Snowboard 159 - Red/Blue - 2013 It’s hard to find something new to say about the Skate Banana, it has been winning award after award since it innovated its way onto the scene nearly ten years ago and journalists, enthusiasts and professionals have lauded it ever since. There are many reasons for this acclaim, most centred on the revolutionary technology that changed snowboarding for ever, some on the artist driven vibrancy of their top sheet artwork and more still on Lib Tech’s industry leading environmental approach to building snowboards. Let’s start with the technology, the Skate Banana was one of the first boards to reintroduce reverse camber after it had briefly made an appearance in the 1980’s but what was so revolutionary was the introduction of
the corrugated edge profile, Magne-Traction. The reverse camber, or banana profile centres the riders weight between the bindings to enhance float, catch free riding and makes spins easier to land as it ‘loosens’ the nose and tail. When riding hard pack however the loose nose and tail can make the board feel twitchy, this is where Magne-Traction works its magic! The corrugated profile allows the rider to initiate a turn from one of the seven ridges running along the edge, rather than the ends of the effective edge, giving the rider more grip than normal even when only half the board is in contact with the snow. The Skate Banana is conscious of its environment too with Lib Tech leading the way with its use of renewable wood, toxin free dyes and the use of castor beans to lessen
the amount of harmful fibreglass used. This is a serious snowboard designed by some of the most forward thinking dudes in the business, get one and see what all the fuss is about! BTX: Banana Technology and Magne-Traction INSERTS: 4X4 FIBREGLASS: Axis Inversion Fibreglass CORE: H-Pop with Banana Specific Core Profile SIDEWALLS: Power Transfer Internal SHAPE: Twin Geometries FLEX:4 - 6 Depending on Length BASE:TNT
