The Burton Malavita is like a bootlegger during prohibition, they deliver the goods but you’re a little scared to ask how they did it. The Malavita is Burton’s most loaded freestyle specific binding and has been designed to deliver performance in a comfortable, stylish and tweakable package that is as happy hucking cornices in the backcountry as it is hitting the big booter line or jibbing the rail garden. It achieves this by starting with a single-component Re:Flex baseplate and marries it to a Canted Living Hinge Zero-Lean Hi-Back that comes replete with the Heel Hammock and DialFLAD, which is all rated at 6/10 on the flex meter. The Heel Hammock is there to cradle your heel in a rubbery web, away from the rigid
hi-back, to give a level of suspension through the binding without sacrificing any of the performance. The Malavita provides further comfort through the AutoCANT FullBED cushioning system that adapts to the pressures the riders exerts on it over time to give a level of custom canting with the addition of B3 Gel in the heel to take the strain from those flatter landings. The Malavita has also benefited from a strap upgrade for 2013 and now features the Asym React strap for your ankle as well as the Gettagrip capstrap for your toes, all working to hold you on the board securely and comfortably. The Burton Malavita Re:Flex comes with hinged disks to aid natural board flex and can be fitted on any snowboard with 3D or 4x4 insert patterns, it should be the reserve of intermediate to advanced
