Because this is the eighth time this has happened, she suspects someone in the group took it. Though Jeff tries dismissing the incident as inconsequential, Annie refuses to give up on finding the pen & exposing the thief. As the study group is preparing dioramas for the Environmental Club’s Green Week, Dean Pelton questions Jeff about his alleged enrollment in a class called Conspiracy Theories in U.S. History. Though Pelton suspects he’s running a scam to get unearned course credit, Jeff insists the class is real & offers to introduce him to its instructor, “ Professor Professorson.” Yet, as Jeff recklessly presses ahead in the hope that Pelton will give up before his ruse is exposed, he’s stunned when someone steps forward claiming to be Professorson. Meanwhile, with Pierce & Shirley off on a road trip to find the best hamburger in the country, Troy looks to avoid spending the night alone by arranging a sleepover in Abed’s dorm. ...

As a new semester gets underway at Greendale Community College, Jeff is the only member of the study group who doesn’t miss Pierce. But when their offensive friend unexpectedly returns after a summer spent getting in touch with his spiritual side & asks to rejoin the group, Jeff points out that there is no more room in the biology class they have all signed up for. & as Jeff argues that their friendships should be able to survive even without the structure of the study group, Abed struggles to find a new favorite television show. ...

When the members of Greendale’s Glee Club have a collective nervous breakdown after Jeff reports them to the government for copyright infringement, their director, Cory Radison, tries to convince the study group to fill in for them in the school’s Christmas pageant. Though they quickly reject his offer, Abed is entranced by “ Mister Rad’s” promise that the pageant would be a way to convince his friends to spend the holiday together. & although Troy is a Jehovah’s Witness & isn’t supposed to celebrate Christmas, Abed tells him that the pageant would be an opportunity to infiltrate the holiday & take it down from the inside. ...

Pierce tells the study group that he is expanding Hawthorne Industries now that his father is gone, prompting Britta to suggest that he invest in Shirley’s idea for a new sandwich shop in Greendale’s cafeteria. When Shirley’s ex-husband Andre proposes to her, Shirley tells Pierce that she is too busy planning their second wedding to concentrate on starting a business. Concerned that Shirley is abandoning her dreams in favor of getting married, Britta offers to plan the wedding for her, despite her negative views on marriage. When it turns out that she has a gift for wedding planning, Britta worries that she is destined to be a wife & mother. ...

Dean Pelton introduces Shirley & Pierce to a Subway “corpo-humanoid” representing the sandwich company who is now enrolled at Greendale due to a school law which states that any business on campus must be partially owned by a student. Hoping to clear the way for their own sandwich shop, Shirley & Pierce ask Britta to dig up some dirt on Subway by seducing the new student. Although she is initially offended, she soon realizes that she is attracted to the corporation’s human form. ...

When Abed’s New Fluffytown pillow fort goes to war with Troy’s competing blanket fort, the students of Greendale are drawn into an epic pillow fight. Worried that the war is jeopardizing Greendale’s Guinness World Record for largest blanket fort, Dean Pelton asks Jeff to help mend Troy & Abed’s friendship. Not taking their fight seriously, Jeff sarcastically presents them with two imaginary friendship hats & declares the conflict over. But when his gambit fails & the first battle spirals out of control, the two sides become even more divided. ...

When Britta learns that Greendale will host a carnival over the weekend, she worries about running into her carnival worker ex-boyfriend, Blade, & begs Annie to keep her from looking at her phone until Monday. Inspired by the unlikely name of Britta’s ex, Troy & Abed settle in for a night of watching the vampire movie Blade, while Annie deploys several techniques she learned in drug rehab to keep Britta away from her phone. Meanwhile, Vice Dean Laybourne orders Dean Pelton to convince Troy to enroll in his Air Conditioning Repair School, while Pierce feels left out of the study group because he doesn’t have a best friend. ...

When the biology test the study group is cramming for is postponed, Annie seizes the opportunity to send Britta & Troy on a date. Since Abed is disappointed that Troy won’t be spending their unexpected free time in the Dreamatorium with him, Annie volunteers to take his place. Despite her best efforts to fit into his elaborate Inspector Spacetime fantasy, Abed quickly loses patience with Annie & lashes out at her for setting up his best friend. Abed tells Annie that the Dreamatorium lets him test drive any scenario involving their friends. Abed then acts out a disastrous date between Dream Britta & Dream Troy. Frustrated with his controlling personality, Annie tries to give Abed some empathy & reconfigures the Dreamatorium’s engine to prioritize other people’s needs. But when his brain short circuits, she worries that she’s gone too far. ...

When the study group discovers that the yam they were growing for Professor Kane’s biology class has been knocked to the floor & smashed, Shirley orders Troy & Abed to investigate. After questioning Pierce & Todd, they learn that Magnitude had the lab key on the night of the crime. Once they track him down, he tells them that he lost the key when his backpack was stolen in the library. Troy & Abed set up a sting operation to catch the thief & discover that Star-Burns broke into the classroom to steal equipment for his meth lab.
