As Dean Pelton drums up interest in a dance contest meant to update the school’s stale Oktoberfest celebration, Jeff is surprised to see his old friend & law firm sidekick, Alan Connor, on campus. After admitting that he is at Greendale for a Narcotics Anonymous meeting, Alan looks to rekindle his friendship with Jeff, who was forced to leave the law firm after his lack of a college degree was exposed. Despite everyone’s concern that Alan is a bad influence, Jeff doesn’t hesitate to pick up where they left off. & even after Annie recalls meeting Alan at an N.A. meeting where she overheard him admit to being the person who exposed his academic shortcomings, Jeff refuses to believe it as he accepts an invitation to come back to the law office for a visit. Meanwhile, as the teams form for the Oktoberfest “pop-&-lock-a-thon, ” Chang gets Abed to agree to make him a member of the study group if he can help them win. ...

Taking advantage of the choices being offered for the spring semester elective, Jeff & Pierce enroll in Italian Wine Tasting. On the first day of class, they both notice a lovely student named Wu Mei. Although Jeff is surprised when she rebuffs his advances, he’s shocked when Pierce announces that he & Wu Mei are engaged to be married. Meanwhile, after joining Britta in Professor Garrity’s acting class, Troy claims his uncle molested him when he is called upon to dredge up a painful childhood memory. & when Abed enrolls in Critical Analysis of Who’s the Boss, he is quick to challenge Professor Sheffield’s ideas about the show. ...

As they are working on their twentieth & final anthropology class diorama, the sudden reappearance of Troy’s thieving monkey sends Chang into an air conditioning vent to find him. Though Chang doesn’t catch the elusive simian, he does come back with all the stuff that’s mysteriously disappeared during the year. Seeing the collection of missing items immediately triggers memories for the study group, including Annie’s wrongly accusing everyone of stealing her violet pens, their ghost town field trip, & filling in for the glee club following a fatal bus accident. But when Abed recalls Christmas, St. Patrick’s Day & Halloween, he cites his memories as proof that Jeff & Britta are having sex. ...

As finals arrive at Greendale, the study group is busy enjoying the “anti-exam” party being given by their anthropology teacher, Professor Duncan. But Duncan’s plan to complete an entire semester without anyone, including himself, having to do any work is upset when Dean Pelton arrives with a reporter who is researching a story for Dean Magazine. & as Duncan struggles to make it seem as though his class is taking a legitimate exam, things get even worse when Shirley goes into labor prematurely right there in the classroom. Meanwhile, despite Shirley’s opinion to the contrary, Chang says that the fact that the baby is early proves he is the father. ...

Overlooking last year’s catastrophe, Dean Pelton has let Pistol Patty’s Cowboy Creamery sponsor an end-of-the-year paintball war with a $100, 000 prize for the winner. Although Annie’s ruthlessness gets her off to a good start towards the grand prize, she’s lured into a trap by Abed, who comes bearing an invitation to meet with Jeff. As she arrives to see Jeff, Annie must first take out his Math Club attackers & send the traitorous Chang running. When Jeff suggests joining forces in a raid on Pierce’s cache of paintballs, Annie & Abed agree. But after discovering that a new competitor called the Black Rider is now in the game, Jeff learns that Pierce has put a bounty on his head. ...

Arriving on campus to find Britta & Annie busy with a Gulf oil spill fund-raising drive, a horrified Troy announces that he stumbled upon the dead body of Pierce’s mom in their garage. Though his friends are quick to express their sympathy, Pierce claims that, according to his Buddhist faith, his mom is simply being vaporized in advance of her eventual reincarnation. When the study group arrives for their Anthropology class while discussing the death, they discover that, with Professor Bauer’s suspension, the class is now being taught by the school’s psychology teacher & Chang’s nemesis, Professor Duncan. As Duncan looks to enforce a restraining order against Chang that he obtained following a violent confrontation the year before, Jeff is stunned when his physical exam reveals he has high cholesterol. & while Jeff struggles with the consequences of aging, Britta accuses Annie of playing the sexy schoolgirl to get the men on campus to donate to their cause. ...

Between dressing up as Lady Gaga, saving money on catering by using surplus military rations, & crafting a playlist that relies heavily on the Ghostbusters soundtrack, Dean Pelton is certain that he’s put together Greendale’s best Halloween costume party ever. Yet things begin to unravel when Pierce falls ill after feasting on the party’s tacos. Though Rich, a part-time pottery student & classmate of Annie’s who is also a doctor, suspects food poisoning, he’s cautioned by Dean Pelton not to cause a panic. But when a zombie-like Pierce starts biting his classmates on the neck & turning them into zombies, too, the dean & Rich realize they have a bigger problem on their hands. ...
