Most conventional detergents contain an optical 'brightener.' This is a chemical which reflects light, making your clothes & linens look brighter than they really are. Optical brighteners make an irreversible chemical bond with the skin & exposure is more or less permanent as we are always in contact with some kind of material. Ecover will not use optical brighteners in ANY of our laundry detergents. - New Formula Laundry Liquid The enhanced formula Laundry Liquid uses a pioneering new ecological ingredient that has been the result of extensive research & collaboration with an ingredient supplier. The new ingredient is made from rapeseed oil (non GMO) & its benefits include its low foaming properties. Foam is detrimental to the washing process & can result in up to 50% of the washing power being lost. Conventional laundry powders contain substances such as silicones to control foaming, but Ecover prefer not to use such environmentally risky ingredients. This new surfactant is combined with a sugar detergent, which is currently one of the best ingredients available in terms of environmental impact & washing effectiveness. Ecovers new laundry liquid formula offers superior cleaning properties & exceptional ecological properties.
