An excellent evergreen shrub from New Zeal&. Not commonly grown in the Uk, but given the right spot, it grows quickly & well & can be clipped into an excellent hedging plant. Similar to Cherry Laurel (Prunus laurocerasus) in appearance though has smaller slightly fleshy, apple-green leaves. Foliage is matt & so does not reflect light like a cherry laurel.
Makes a superb coastal hedging plant, benefitting as it does from slightly higher temperatures & a general absence of frosts, which can damage young leaves.
Height: 2.5m x Spread: 1.5m in 10 years.
