3rd & Bird is a new, animated preschool series about a community of birds that live, learn & play in the branches of a beautiful old tree. 3rd & Bird was created by Josh Selig, creator of The Wonder Pets, & uses Photo-puppetry animation. The vibrant community of 3rd & Bird is always alive with songs, dances, & whistling galore. In each episode we follow Samuel Lovebird, an adorable young bird, as he explores his world & learns all about his community. 3rd & Bird teaches children the value of being an active member of their community. As Samuel & his friends participate in community activities, they develop social skills that are integral to the functioning of a healthy community. Along the way they learn important life lessons about diversity, tolerance & perseverance. 3rd & Bird is an irreverent, joyful series filled with humour, whistling, dancing & an eclectic cast of flying characters. Though the series takes on important social issues, it never loses sight of the importance of a clever turn of phrase or the timeless fun of physical comedy. Contains the following eight episodes: 1. Muffinland! Muffin builds her own amusement park, Muffinland! Samuel, Rudy & Mr. Beakman are the first to try out the rides but they all break. Muffin is disappointed but the older birds explain to her that it takes more than one bird to build an amusement park, & all she needs to do is ask for help! Muffin asks for help & together the birds fix-up Muffinland & make it into a spectacular attraction for the whole community! 2. Muffin’s Shop! Muffin is playing shops but she has nothing to sell. She hops around the community innocently taking things that don’t belong to her: Samuel’s marbles, Mrs. Billingsley’s watering can & Mr. Beakman’s chalkboard duster. The community explains to her that she must always ask before taking something. Muffin apologizes & the community decides to get their stuff back by playing shops with Muffin! 3. Dinosaur! Muffin really wants to see a dinosaur, & is heartbroken when Mr. Beakman tells her they’re no longer around. Samuel & Rudy build Muffin a giant papier-mâché dinosaur, but it scares her. Mr. Beakman helps Muffin to overcome her fear & she rides the dinosaur around the tree! 4. Go Camping! Rudy, Quinn & Mr. Beakman are going camping with their Budgie troop & Muffin wants to come along. When Muffin gets homesick & wants to leave, it’s up to Rudy & Samuel to show her the joys of camping. 5. Playhouse! Muffin stumbles on Samuel & Rudy’s playhouse, but they won’t let her come in. She stomps away & Quinn helps her build her own playhouse, even better than theirs. When Samuel & Rudy ask to visit, Muffin won’t let them. Mr. Beakman suggests they stop quarreling & put the playhouses together. They take his advice & make the best playhouse ever. 6. Cowgirl! After seeing a cowboy movie, Muffin decides she’d like to be a cowgirl but first she needs a hat. The kids get a hat from Mr. Beakman but now Muffin needs some boots. They get boots from Missy but now Muffin needs a horse! Muffin is disappointed when she realizes there are no horses on 3rd & Bird & she can never be a cowgirl. Rudy & Samuel put their heads together & make a horse costume. Cowgirl Muffin rides through town at sunset. Yee haw! 7. Muffin’s Plant! Muffin comes upon a strange plant that she affectionately names Pee-Ew. Pee-Ew smells so terrible that no one wants the little plant in the tree. Muffin helps the community realize that they can’t cast out this peculiar plant just because of its smell. The community works together to make a garden for Pee-Ew on 3rd & Bird. 8. Baby Jordan! Mr. Beakman’s 3-year-old nephew Jordan comes to visit & the town gushes over him. Muffin, however, is jealous of the attention. Despite everyone’s attempts to bring them together, Muffin refuses to be friends with Jordan. But when the cute little Toucan offers her a flower, Muffin softens. Soon she & Jordan are best friends.
