When Irene hears that her Aunty Doris has died & she must sort out her personal effects, she is filled with a sense of personal & global doom. Finding out that Doris was a fervent campaigner, & aware that Vera is a keen recycler, Irene decides to send Doris clothes to Vera with explosive results... Meanwhile, Vera has thrown herself into environmental causes, winning the courgette competition at Great Shags Greener Gardens show. Soon both Ladies are eco-enthusiasts, tying bricks to ballcocks, running cars on chip fat, & even emailing Al Gore to update him on the state of the local bottle bank. Inevitably, disasters occur, with toilets blocking, cars self-combusting, & even rivers getting diverted. Irene is worried about the peoples of the planet, but people closerto home are causing problems too: her son Christopher, who has been travelling the world carbon trading, has fallen in love. But who is the mystery paramour? With familial chaos on the horizon, the Ladies find that saving the planet is the leastof their worries...
