For a band known to most for the epic scale of their work; Spirit of Radio might seem a bit of a departure; with it's (unsurprising given the title) radio friendly riffs & (dare I say it) almost "everyman" lyrics. But such a surface analysis of the Canadian three-piece completely misses their brilliance. For Rush are so much more than the prog band most have them down as. Their diversity across their career eclipses pretty much any other band on the planet. Technically perfect; lyrically observant & with a sense of humour & pathos that many of their peers lack; Rush really are an inspiration.
