Art Deco ?is an eclectic artistic & design style that began in Paris in the 1920s & flourished internationally throughout the 1930s, into the World War II era. Jacques Adnet is a furniture designer best known for his Art Deco Modernist designs & an icon of French Modernism. Known for his avant-garde designs, Adnet was one of the first to integrate metal & glass in the structure & decoration of furniture. His style is the epitome of luxury. In 1950, Adnet formed a partnership with the French fashion house, Hermes, where he developed a collection of leather-covered furniture & interior accessories. Accordingly, he made a round leather mirror with brass hinges. Besides the remarkable leather & brass details, the mirror is also unique as the strap that holds the mirror is in direct proportion to the dimension of the mirror.
